-

It’s the place to be for those who want to free their minds from the busy environment of the populated city and feel the sanctuary of peace. Located within the Robinsons Place and Go Hotel complex in Barangay Marasbaras, Tacloban City, the Summit Hotel Tacloban officially opened on June 21. It is just a few minutes away from the airport.

The fifth property under the Summit Hotels brand aims to give guests a comfortable stay, amid relaxing interiors and pampered by truly hospitable service. Robinsons Hotels and Resorts general manager Elizabeth Gregorio reports a high occupancy on their soft opening during the preceding few weeks of the hotel’s operation, explaining that the new hotel is equipped to provide high-quality hospitality services and unique levels of comfort, complemented by a nice location and reasonable rates.

The grand ballroom of Summit Hotel Tacloban can accommodate up to 600 people, to boost the region’s bid to become a destination for conventions or any special gatherings. The 138 rooms of the hotel sports a tropical look, with relaxing bed and elegant lighting fixtures. Every room has hot-and-cold shower, LCD TV with cable connection and wi-fi connection.

The hotel’s pool area is a perfect chill-out place for the guests. There’s also a fitness center. The in-house restaurant, called Patron Casual Dining, use fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers.

The hotel’s six guest suites are styled in three themes: Sangyaw (religious and socio-cultural festival), Lubi-Lubi (indigenous street parade) and Pintados (native Visayan tribes with tattooed bodies). All suites have an unmistakable Tacloban vibe. The new hotel is ideally located within walking distance to locally owned restaurants and shops.

With the opening of Summit Hotel Tacloban, there are now five Summit hotels in operation under the Gokongweiled company including Summit Ridge Tagaytay, Summit Hotel Magnolia in Quezon City, Summit Galleria Cebu, and Summit Circle Cebu. PHOTOS: www.summithotels.ph
