No coach, no problem for the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers for the second straight game.

Fighting on their own with fellow players Tristan Albina and Gileant Delator alternating as coach, the Lancers remained a deadly force to easily dismantle the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats, 109-80, in the 2018 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Partner's Cup last night at the Cebu Coliseum.

With a clean 5-0 slate, the Lancers are already ensured of a finals berth regardless of the outcome of their last elimination round assignment against the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in a grudge rematch of last year's CESAFI finals this Tuesday.

UV coach Gary Cortes, ingreent-shirt,wasactually at the sidelines watching over his wards play but he just let them do their thing on purpose.

"I want to test their leadership skills. Not all of them will become players. Some of them might pursue a career out of coaching and I want to prepare them early," said Cortes.

With Albina and Delator in command, the Lancers still delivered a seamless offense, never looking back after posting a huge 55-34 lead at halftime. The rest, they say, is history.

Earlier, Jasper Pacana scored 11 of his 24 points in the final quarter as the Hotel Fortuna-University of Cebu ( UC) Junior Webmasters handed the Organique California- University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers their first loss.

Justin Mondares scored all his 15 points from beyond the arc, while Joshua Gellalone and James Incio connived for 19 points for the Junior Webmasters, who forge a three-way deadlock with the Baby Panthers and the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers on identical 4-1 winloss records.
