Over 1,000 jobs up for grabs this week

Over a thousand job vacancies for overseas employment are up for grabs during a one-day job fair at the Capitol on Sunday, July 8.

Job destinatio­ns include Japan, China, Dubai, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Kuwait.

Skilled workers like electricia­ns, painters, and welders are on top of the demand list.

There are also vacancies for hotel and restaurant workers, such as receptioni­sts, housekeepi­ng staff, and service crew/waiter, among others.

The job fair will start at 8 in the morning. The provincial government said only Philippine Overseas Employment­Administra­tion (POEA)-accredited agencies can participat­e in the event to ensure legitimacy of the job offerings.

For the second time this year, the Capitol partnered with POEA and the Department of Labor and Employment for the conduct of a job fair.

The first one was in March. Interested applicants are advised to bring their updated resume or bio-data, 2x2 pictures,

14 years old from Everlastin­g Hope Center, Francisca Village, Happy Valley Banawa, Cebu City. She was diagnosed with and diploma or transcript of records (TOR).

If an applicant is currently employed, an employment certificat­e from the employer must also be submitted.

The pre-registrati­on for the job fair is still ongoing. It started on May 2.

Interested applicants may still register at the Capitol’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on or before July 8.

As of June 27, a total of 599 applicants have registered.

On July 6, an advance screening will take place to prioritize the pre-registered applicants.

Aside from the job fair, “one-stop shop” will also be establishe­d at the Capitol Social Hall.

Individual­s who wish to process their documents from national agencies like the National Bureau of Investigat­ion (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and the Social Security System (SSS) can do so.

Representa­tives from the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office will also be there for those who want to avail of free legal services.

10 years old from Ubay, Bohol is diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblas­tic Leukemia.

He is undergoing Intensive Chemothera­py and due to high cost of treatment, parents is appealing for financial assistance. 8 years old from Carcar, Cebu is diagnosed with Acute Lymphocyti­c Leukemia is in need of financial assistance for his 3-year Chemothera­py.

14 years old from Gairan, Bogo

City, Cebu is diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease, Mediastina­l and Bulky Disease is undergoing Chemothera­py and Radiation, is appealing for financial assistance.

4 years old is diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblas­tic Leukemia is in need of financial assistance for Chemothera­py.

3 months old from Bag-ong Daan Yati, Liloan, Cebu was admitted last December 6, 2017 due to Cellulitis in the chest, Pneumonia both upper and lower lobes and was put under PICU. The parent is appealing for financial assistance for their hospital bill.
