Ladies 10s Int'l Rugby Festival set this Saturday

-

The Cebu Lady Dragons hope to reclaim their crown in this year’s Cebu Ladies 10s International Rugby Festival this Saturday at the Cebu International School in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City. The Cebuanas want to bounce back after suffering a painful defeat in last year’s finals against the visiting Shanghai Pink Dragons.

The Pink Dragons have begged off this time as they were not able to come up with a solid team for the tournament.

With their rivals out, the Lady Dragons is still facing a stiff competition from Al Ain Amblers of Dubai, Eagles Select, SKF Mavericks, Makati Chiefs and Lady Generals of General Santos City.

A lot are expected from the Lady Dragons after their silver medal finish in the last Philippine National Games.

“Most of the members of our team have competed in the PNG while the rest are mostly new to the sport. This is a strong team and we will definitely do our best that the trophy stays in Cebu,” said Mae Anne Ubaub in a press conference yesterday at the Semifinal Sports Bar.

To strengthen its bid, the Lady Dragons have also included seven reinforcements from Papua New Guinea. —
