P.5M drugs seized, 9 nabbed in anti-drug busts

Nine persons were arrested and more than P.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in several antidrug operations in Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City.

The Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) -7 arrested one Andro Dullano, 42, in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, Thursday afternoon and seized from him four medium packs of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P374,000.

PDEA-7 spokespers­on Leia Albiar said that they have been monitoring Dullano’s illegal drug activities in the area for several weeks prior to the operation.

Albiar added that Dullano's mother was arrested in 2016 in a raid for allegedly maintainin­g a drug den in the area.

There is a possibilit­y that Dullano took over the illegal drug operation after his mother was arrested.

In Barangay DuljoFatim­a, 28-year-old Christian Cubil was arrested for possession of illegal drugs after police allegedly confiscate­d from him one medium pack of shabu with an estimated value of P62,000.

In Barangay Basak San Nicholas, police arrested Allam Amorado, 48, and seized from him four packs of shabu with an estimated value of P61,000.

In Lapu-Lapu City, six persons, including a security guard, were arrested in a separate buy-bust operations conducted by Lapu-Lapu City Police Office-City Intelligen­ce Branch (LCPO-CIB) last Thursday.

Superinten­dent Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of LCPO- CIB, said an estimated P20,768 worth of suspected shabu were confiscate­d from Avelino Mangubat, 37; Ana Pino, 38; Joshua Potot, 19; Alex Ferolino, 40; Julieta Berdin, 36; and 27-yearold security guard Denclear Badayos.

Badayos was arrested in Barangay Pajac at around 8:30 p.m. while the five others were arrested in Barangay Poblacion at around 5:50 p.m. on the same day.

Sucalit said at least 33 small sachets of suspected shabu were seized from the Mangubat's group with an estimated value of P15, 576 while 11 sachets with an estimated value of P5,192 were seized from Badayos.
