DUMAGUETE CITY — At least 75 grams of shabu, worth about P800,000, was confiscated from a drug high-value target who was arrested by operatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch, the Special Operations Group, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The joint team of operatives on Thursday evening implemented a search warrant on the house, rented by the suspect Adrian Svend Pinero, at Barangay Candau-ay in Dumaguete City.

Pinero has no known permanent address, although he claimed to be from Barangay Batinguel, and has been jobless but he has been renting the house in Candau-ay.

Senior Inspector Joel Van Tingson disclosed that the arrest of Pinero was a result of an intelligence-driven operation on the suspect, whose name surfaced in previous arrest of a certain Oding, who was the alleged source of shabu. Pinero has been transferring from one place to the other, until his latest address was tipped by an informant.

Pinero has been deemed a level 2 drug personality because he can dispose 150 to 250 grams of shabu in a week, with remittances amounting to hundreds of thousands of pesos to unknown individuals. On Thursday evening, Pinero was monitored to be delivering shabu in Sibulan and other neaerby areas, Tingson said.

The raiding team also recovered during the search P7,442 cash, believed to be proceeds from his drug trade, cellular phones, digital weighing scale, lighters, tinfoils, clips, and a .38-caliber revolver with eight live bullets. —
