23 COPs relieved

- Jennifer P. Rendon,

ILOILO CITY — Twenty-three chiefs of police (COPs) from all over Western Visayas were ordered to vacate their post due to their perceived low performance, especially on anti-illegal drugs campaign in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, Police Regional Office-6 director, announced yesterday, July 23, the relief of 23 chiefs of police from a city and six provincial offices, except the Bacolod City Police Office.

Relieved from their posts were five police chiefs under the

Iloilo Police Provincial Office; four each from the Antique PPO, the Capiz PPO, and the Negros Occidental PPO; and three each from the Aklan PPO and the Iloilo City PO.

Those from Aklan PPO and Antique PPO will be transferred to the Capiz PPO, according to Bulalacao, while those from the Capiz PPO will now be a part of the Negros Occidental PPO.

Those ousted from the Negros Occidental PPO will be moved to the Antique PPO, while those from the Iloilo PPO will have Aklan PPO as their new "home."

On the other hand, ICPO will be losing the services of Senior Insp. Jose Val Ladublan of La Paz Police Station, who will be deployed to the Antique PPO, Chief Insp. Juvy Navales of Mandurriao Police Station, who willgototheBacolodCityPO,and Senior Insp. Mary Socorro Borio ofArevaloPoliceStation.whowill be sent to the Capiz PPO.

Bulalacao cited that the relief was due to three factors: low operational accomplishments ---- on efforts against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and arrest of wanted persons; low performance in crime solution efficiency (CSE) and crime clearance efficiency (CCE); and recommendation of their provincial police directors.

The Performance Evaluation took into consideration the operational accomplishments from June 1 to June 30, 2018, with the deliberation conducted by the PNP Regional Oversight Committee on July 3, 6, and 9, Bulalacao added.
