Asturias municipal councilor Dana Andrew Dumdum has sought the assistance of the police after he was allegedly shot by a tennis game supporter inside Asturias Tennis Court in Barangay Poblacion on Sunday afternoon.

Police Senior Inspector Jade Sumugat, Asturias police chief, said that Asturias Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) organized a tournament participated in by tennis enthusiasts including the victim and his father, former Asturias vice mayor Joel Dumdum.

Initial investigation showed that Joel was in a game match with a certain Severino Baricuatro and Joel Dacua.

While the game was about to end, a heated argument ensued between the players and spectators.

Sumugat said that the heated argument resulted in a fistfight between the supporters of the two teams.
