Accenture, Kyocera keep hot streaks in E-Leagues

-

The Accenture Sharks and Kyocera Frontiers sustained their hot streaks, albeit in contrasting fashion in the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 14 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Archie Brian Vincent Batua sparkled with 18 points as the Sharks pounded the QBE Generals, 84-56, to tighten their grip of the solo Elite Classic lead with a perfect 4-0 record.

Ryan Miano chipped in 15 markers and Junas Marion Misa contributed 10 for the Sharks, who stayed as the only undefeated team in Elite Classic.

On the other hand, Matthew Grafilo unloaded 20 points, and Ariel Ramonito Edera banged in 12 points laced with five assists, four rebounds, four steals and two blocks as the Frontiers pulled off a close 58-52 win over the Optum Knights to jump atop the EVO League standings with a clean 3-0 slate.

Nicole John Sultan had 14 points for Optum, which tasted its first loss in three starts, while Johnrey Girasol and Jed Joseph Llena tallied 11 points each but to no avail as QBE crashed to its third setback in a row.

In the other games, the SSI Research Now Warriors spanked the Shearwater Health Crusaders, 69-56, while the Wipro Tigers prolonged the misery of the listless Telstra-Teletech Boomerangs, 72-59.

Jose Carlo netted 18 points, while Rex Alinson had 11 points, eight rebounds, five steals and an assist as the Warriors leveled their record to 2-2. Shearwater fell to 0-2 despite a solid 20-point, 16-rebound show by Bryle Albert Ampong.

Randolf Espinosa and Aaron Suson showed the way for Wipro with 34 combined points.

Jasper Diaz dished out 12 points, 11 boards, three assists, one steal and one rebound but went home on a pensive mood as Telstra-Teletech stayed listless in five games to further languish at the cellar.—
