MSMEs told to go digital
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-7) urges Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to invest and employ tech-augmented operations.
“We need to play catch up,” said DTI-7 assistant regional director Nanette Arbon explaining further that companies especially the “brick and mortar” type are now on the brink of transition—migrating to digital way of doing business, from traditional.
She said businesses may be alive now, but if they will not employ a full digital system in their respective companies, they may suffer in in the future, or worse cannot face the sharper competition ahead. According to Arbon, DTI will not only promote t he development of digital adaption among MSMEs in Cebu, but also in the entire region.
“Local businesses need t o be competitive, they need help. They need to understand more,” Arbon said during the official launching of Bai City Conference slated on August 23 to 25 at the Skyhall B of SM Seaside City Cebu.
Bai City Con focuses on the digital industry. It will showcase a roster of speakers who are experts in their fields of industry.
Bai City Conference is organized by a local digital transformation agency, Republiq Group of Companies ( TGC). It is the same team behind Facebook’s new media channel, BAI TV.—
