12 persons nabbed in separate buy-busts
Twelve persons were arrested in separate buybust operations in the cities of Cebu and Talisay yielding close to P500,000 worth of illegal drugs.
In Barangay Labangon, seven drug personalities were arrested in a buy-bust and entrapment operation in Sitio Cekalco around 3 a.m. last Thursday.
Operatives of the Punta Police Station, together with its Drug Enforcement Unit, conducted a buy-bust operation against Bryan Lendio Alas, 24, a resident of the place.
The suspect yielded one medium and four small packs of suspected shabu.
The authorities also arrested Kevin Kim Cabalda Sarmieto, 24, of Cogon Pardo, Cebu City; Jeffey Rabaya Ebrado, 36, of Lagtang, Talisay City; and Jay Michael Ferraren Prospero, 26, of Sitio Laryosa Clan, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
The three were also in the buy-bust area and they were caught reportedly with three medium and seven small packs of alleged shabu.
Police also recovered homemade cal. 38 paltik revolvers from Ebrado and Prospero.
The police also arrested Joshua Abapo Manguilimotan, 28, of Salvador Extension; John Rene Castro Bacalya, 25, of 16 A Lopez Street; and Ardi Cabalda Sarmiento, 46, of Sitio Cekalco, who reportedly possessed several drug paraphernalia.
The suspected shabu recovered from the suspects is valued at P276,828.
The suspects are now detained at the Punta Police Station detention cell pending filing of charges against them.
An hour later after the operation in Labangon, two persons were arrested in a separate buy-bust by the Guadalupe policemen along Happy Valley Street, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City around 4 a.m.
The police identified the suspects as Joereil Marinay Sonsona, 30, a resident of 240C A Lopez Street, Barangay Labangon and Arman Gepela Cebial, 33, a resident of Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City.
Recovered from the suspects were three medium and four small packs of shabu worth P106,250.
In Pardo, Cebu City, three persons were arrested in another buy-bust operation in Sitio Crusher, Barangay Lawaan 3, Talisay City Cebu around 5:20 a.m. last Thursday.
Personnel from the Pardo Police Station received a tip from a concerned citizen about an ongoing illegal activity in the area.
The Pardo policemen then coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–7 and the Talisay City Police Office and conducted a buy-bust, which led to the arrest of the suspect.
Glenn Bacus Rabadon, 42, and a resident of Sitio Crusher, Barangay Lawaan 3 was arrested when he reportedly sold one small pack of shabu to a poseurbuyer in exchange of P200.
Rabadon sensed that he transacted with a policeman and tried to run towards his house but was held by police.
The police recovered eight small packs of suspected shabu worth P37,120 from the suspect.
Jegard Luwage Tabera, 30, and Laarni Escanilla Rondina, 29, both residents of Sitio Crusher, were also arrested when they were caught repacking shabu inside Rabadon’s house.
Police also recovered two small packs of shabu worth P20,000 from the suspects.
The three suspects are now detained at the Pardo Police Station detention cell pending the filing of appropriate charges against them.
