In Mandaue City, two men were shot dead by three unidentified assailants at around 11 p.m.

The victims were identified as Ropil Norvaso, a resident Barangay Binaliw, Cebu City, and Ricky Andijar.

An initial investigation found that the victims were about to go outside the premises of the Cebu International Convention Center when the three unidentified suspects, wearing bonnets, arrived and shot the victims.

Norvaso was dead on the spot while Ricky Andijar attempted to escape from the hands of the assailants.

He ran towards A.S Fortuna extension in Barangay Guizo but the assailants were able to corner and shot him several times.

Both victims succumbed gunshot wounds to the different parts of their bodies.

Senior Police Officer 3 Reynato Canja of the Mandaue Police Station 1 said that they found a release order of Norvaso dated May 2015 for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.

He also said that Andijar also has a previous case.
