Work eyed in woman’s shooting
Police are eyeing work-related matters as the possible motive behind the shooting of human resource staff outside her boarding house in Goldenville Subdivision, Barangay Banawa, Cebu City, last Thursday night.
The victim, Trizzielle Villaroman Garcia, 23, a native of Malaybalay, Bukidnon, suffered gunshot wounds in the neck and arm, after two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot at the car she was on board around 8:30 p.m.
Guadalupe Police Station chief, Senior Inspector Eduard Sanchez, said the assailants may have waited in front of her boarding house for her to arrive. When she arrived in a Grab car driven by Rine Malinao, 43, the two came forward and shot her while she was still in the passenger's seat.
Reacting to the gunshots, Malinao drove the car forward to escape as the assailants fled from the scene.

Sanchez said the motorcycle did not have any license plates, according to witnesses in the area.
Garcia was immediately brought to the hospital by Mobile Patrol Group personnel who were patrolling around the area. Sanchez said Garcia was still in critical condition as of last night and would have to undergo an operation.
He added that at least two weeks prior to the shooting the victim recommended several drivers of her company for dismissal. Following the firing, she encountered harassment when her laptop was repeatedly stabbed with a screwdriver.
As of last night, the police are waiting for coordination from her employer to have the drivers she fired checked as possible persons of interest.—
