BACOLOD CITY — A total of P6.27 million worth of shabu was confiscated during three police buy-bust operations, two of which were in Bacolod City, and the other in Silay City, Negros Occidental, last Wednesday and Thursday.

Bacolod Police Station operatives, led by Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag, on Thursday evening conducted a buy-bust operation at purok Kabulakanin in Barangay SingcangAirport, Bacolod City that resulted in the seizure of 430 grams of shabu with an estimated street market value of P5.1 million.

Arrested was Errol Gemarangan, a newly identified drug personality from whose possession the shabu, the P500 marked money and P400 cash were confiscated.

A day earlier, or on Thursday, at least P1.02 million worth of shabu, weighing a total of 85 grams from 21 sachets, was seized from a new drug player, identified by the police as Pastor Palo, also at Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City. Also arrested were Renante Sonalan, Jesus Paurillo, and Jesus Rodriguez.

In Silay City on Wednesday, the police conducted a buy-bust operation at Brgy. Guinhalaran, which resulted in the arrest of a new drug personality, Clarissa Millare, and two others identified as drug surrenderers — Joel Ong and Allan Laraga — who yielded P155,000 worth of shabu.

These recent busts of P6.72 million shabu brought the total of confiscated drugs in Negros Occidental this week to P78.27 million, after the police haul in San Carlos City, also on Wednesday, of six kilos of shabu with a market value of P72 million.
