TNT tries to bounce back

-

For TnT Katropa, there's not much time to ponder on that stunning loss to a depleted NLEX team in its PBA Governors Cup opening game.

What's in front of the Katropa on their next game is the more urgent matter.

As if the 103-90 setback against the Road Warriors Friday night is not enough, TnT faces yet another daunting task as it goes up against the Meralco Bolts tonight when the seasonending conference resumes at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Game time is at 4:30 p.m.

Coach Nash Racela pointed out what went wrong in the team's sorry loss to the Road Warriors, who was without coach Yeng Guiao and players Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Alas, and Asi Taulava.

But given the proximity of the Katropa's game against the Bolts, the TnT mentor would rather look at the future than in the past.

Allen Durham, who struggled against Columbian Dyip in their first outing, but nonetheless, managed to pull off a 109-106 win.

Durham put up monster numbers of 26 points and 20 rebounds against the Dyip despite not being in better shape yet, according to coach Norman Black.

In the main game at 6:45 p.m, NLEX Road Warriors tangle with an undermanned North Port side.

A follow-up victory by NLEX on its 103-90 shocker over TNT just last Friday would give it the early lead in the seasonending tourney.

Not bad at all for practically the same team that wound up secondto-last in the recent Commissioner's Cup.

What makes the win more impressive is the fact the Road Warriors fashioned it despite the absence of head coach Yeng Guiao and veteran center Asi Taulava, both with the national team seeing action in the Asian Games in Indonesia.

North Port, formerly known as GlobalPort, also has Stanley Pringle on loan to the Nationals and now also have to see action minus the injured Sean Anthony. —
