Licensed architects will once again showcase their hardcourt skills on a fun-filled yet highly competitive level as the second season of the Cebu Architects' Basketball Club (CABC) Corporate Cup gets underway today at the Chiang Kai Shek Gymnasium of Cebu Eastern College (CEC).

Three games are on tap but will commence only after the simple opening rites at 11:30 a.m. to be graced by the UABC officers led by their incumbent president Klein Baladya and VPs Paolo Alberto and Justin Aspacio.

The order of play will be determined by drawing of lots, said league treasurer Oliver Tan.

"We're looking forward to another exciting and highly successful season. I am enjoining my fellow architects to enjoy and have fun each game," said Baladya in a press conference the other day at Club Filipino de Cebu.

The contending teams are Boysen Paints, Davies Paints, AAC Light Strong, Phelps Dodge, Metrotiles, and Econtech.

They will play in a single round robin format. The top two teams earning outright semis berths with twice-to-beat incentives.

Teams No.3 and No.4, on the other hand, will enjoy twice-to-beat edge over No.6 and 5, respectively, in the quarterfinals.

The championship is a winner-take-all affair.
