- Ermida Q. Moradas/GAN —

Consolacion Vice Mayor Thelma Jordan has suffered injuries after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street along the national highway of Barangay Poblacion, Liloan last Sunday evening.

Senior Police Officer 1 Jonas Catubig, traffic investigator of Liloan Police Station, said that Jordan was crossing the street at the pedestrian lane from a local mall and was on her way back to her office when a motorcycle driven by Eliezer Canlum, 30, hit her.

Catubig said that Jordan suffered injuries in her left hand, right leg, and to her head.

She was immediately brought to the nearest hospital and was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

Canlum, who was reportedly driving at a very fast speed, was thrown into the pavement and also suffered injuries.

“Tungod sa kakusog sa padagan kay nalagpot ang driver. Nabuak pa gani ang helmet niya. Nagusbat sad ang motor,” said Catubig.

He added that Canlum was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

Jordan is determined to file a case against Canlum, according to Catubig.

Charges for violation of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and driving under the influence of alcohol are being prepared against the suspect, who is still recovering at a hospital.
