Lions roar to 5-0 start in E-Leagues

Ralph Belarmino stole the thunder as the Dreamscape Network Lions pounded the Author Solutions Philippine­s Inc. (ASPI) Hardbacks, 73-49, to stay perfect in the EVO League of the Tanduay Athletics E-League for Basketball Season 14 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Belarmino dropped 22 points spiked with 12 rebounds, three steals and two assists in an allaround performanc­e that propelled the Lions to their fifth straight win in as many starts.

Jan Isiah Gabest and Jose Paolo Diputado also figured prominentl­y in Dreamscape’s masterful demolition of the hapless Hardbacks.

Gabest scattered 15 points, five rebounds, six steals and three assists, while Diputado nailed 12 markers, four boards, and two steals for the Lions, who used a 30-14 first-half assault as springboar­d to their 24-point rout of the Hardbacks.

Donald de Leon finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists but to no avail as the Hardbacks slipped to 3-2.

On the other hand, Vicente Bongo flashed a 13-point, 13-rebound performanc­e to power the Cognizant Tech Solutions Gladiators past the Shearwater Health Crusaders, 60-56.

Kristian Tapic chipped in 16 points and Frelan Placencia and Kimjo Christian Osorno connived for 22 points as the Gladiators snapped out of their three-game jinx to finally barge into the win column.

In the other EVO League games, Jade Seno and Jhade Lawas had a combined total of 44 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Results Manila Spartans decimated the Streamline Kangaroos, 88-48, for their second win in four games, while James Patrick Bactol and Peaen Jazz Bartoces conspired for 26 as the JP Morgan Chase Bankers raised their record to 5-1 with a 79-34 massacre of the Bombardier Grey Wolves.—
