Police to work with NBI-7 despite cases vs cops

- — Mae Clydyl

The Police Regional Office-7 will continue to work with the National Bureau of Investigation-7 despite the charges filed against three Carbon Police Station personnel over the death of a four-year-old kid in Sitio Bato, Ermita.

Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas, PRO-7 director, said that they will connect with NBI considering that the PNP and the NBI are both working for the government.

“It is high-time we connect and share. Nothing personal kami…wala pyud mi plano (maguba ang relationship). Anyways, the former management is out so we will give him a chance,” Sinas said.

NBI-7 has a new head in the person of Dominador Cimafranca.

Cimafranca has earlier said they will continue to cooperate with the police and the relationship between two law enforcement agencies remains steadfast and strong.

“We are all law enforcement agencies and we work for the government, it is better to discuss,” he said.

Sinas said that personally, he has no “bad blood” with NBI-7 but he had to support his police officers.

Sinas reiterated they can always work with anybody in the fight against illegal drugs.

“Ako personally wala ko kasuko sa ilaha, pero nahiubos lang sad na akong mga pulis so I have to side with them,” he said.

He added that he will soon schedule a courtesy visit on Cimafranca to discuss things.

To recall, NBI-7 through its former director Patricio Bernales filed criminal and administrative complaint against Police Senior Inspector John Kareen Escober, who led the anti-drug operation last July 10, with Police Officers 1 Wilbert Perez and Rey Van Dadula, of Carbon police station, over the death of four-year-old Skyler Abatayo.
