Ten suspected drug personalities, including three minors, were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in the cities of Talisay and Danao last Wednesday.

In Talisay City, five, three of them minors, were nabbed in a checkpoint along the national highway of Barangay Mojon last Wednesday evening.

The police identified the arrested suspects as Jevin Abastillas, 20, and Wilmar Sayingga, 19, both residents of Barangay Maghaway, Talisay City. Also arrested were three minors – two male and one female aged 17, 16, and 14.

Talisay City Police Chief Marlu Conag said that his policemen were conducting a checkpoint operation in Barangay Mojon when their advance security personnel sighted two speedy motorcycles heading towards the checkpoint.

However, when the suspects noticed the uniformed personnel, they reportedly slowed down and simultaneously made a “u-turn.”

The advance team successfully flagged them down.

All the suspects reportedly had shabu in their possession, which resulted to their lawful arrest.

The female minor and Abastillas were arrested in a follow-up operation after one of the arrested suspects revealed that the two are with them who were just waiting nearby.

Conag said that they were able to seize from the suspects a total of 27 grams of suspected shabu worth P318,600.

All the arrested suspects are now temporarily detained at the Talisay City Police detention cell pending the filing of appropriate charges against them.
