The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) continues to strengthen its economic relations with neighboring countries to leverage business opportunities and promote the growing Cebu business community. CCCI JOINS CEBU DELEGATION
TO 2018 CIFIT IN XIAMEN
The Cebu delegation, which is composed of 15 members from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and 11 members from the Cebu Provincial government, attended the 20th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) last September 7 to 11 in Xiamen, China.
Together with Cebu Provincial Government delegation, CCCI attended the 20th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) last September 7-11 in Xiamen, China.
Spearheaded by CCCI President Consul Antonio N. Chiu, the chamber delegation composed of 15 members from various sectors while there are 11 members from the Cebu Provincial Government delegation led by Cebu Governor Hilario P. Davide III.
This Xiamen trade mission purposively intended to develop economic relations between Cebu and Fujian and to explore business opportunities between the members of the business chambers in Cebu and Fujian.
Further, members of the business delegation aimed to identify business opportunities in their respective fields of interest and to explore new ones in other fields as the case maybe or if a viable business exchange is achieved.
During the trade mission, the Provincial Governments of Xiamen and Cebu inked the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a strong trade and investment partnership between the two cities.
CCCI COLLABORATES WITH DENR-EMB7
IN ADDRESSING ECC REQUIREMENT The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) held a Technical Conference with Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau 7 (DENR-MEB7) last September 7 at Engy Tech Building, Hernan Cortes, Mandaue City, Cebu.
CCCI conducted a technical conference together with DENR-EMB7 to settle issues and concerns of some chamber’s member companies with regard to the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) requirement.
The Technical Conference was held last September 7 at Engy Tech Building, Hernan Cortes, Mandaue City, Cebu.
The conference discussed the simplification of the issues and stipulation of facts, execution of a commitment to abate or mitigate the pollution within a period that shall not exceed ninety (90) days, and the commitment of CCCI to preserve the environment through the Cebu Tree Growing Program of the Cebu Provincial Government.
The companies who attended the conference and aired their sides of having planted a considerable number of forest and fruit trees are the following: 1) Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative, 2) Contempo Property Holdings, Inc., 3) Prime Homes Development Corporation, and 4) Mactan Rock Industries, Incorporated.
With this, DENR-EMB7 Environmental Management Specialist Francis Escalante and DENR-EMB7 Information Officer II Maribeth J. Sevilla had given a timeframe to the attendees to submit the pertinent documents in compliance with the solid waste, air and water standards. Also, they are set to submit these documents to the office of DENR-EMB7 for further monitoring and inspection of their ECC requirement.
