Call center agent killed in robbery

-

A 37-yearold call center agent was killed by robbers near a pizzeria on Pope John Paul Ave., Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City at 2:50 a.m. yesterday.

The victim, Loraine Bravante Temple, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

A colleague of Temple, Hazel Namit, who was at the funeral parlor said that Temple has been working for a year and five months in a company at the Cebu I.T Park in Barangay Apas.

Namit said Temple used to drive a car in going to work. However, after she figured in an accident, she preferred to use public transportation.

The CCTV camera in the area caught two motorriding assailants wearing jacket and fleeing from the crime scene.

Chief Inspector Dindo Alaras, chief of Mabolo Police Station, said that a witness saw the victim resisted when the robbers grabbed her bag. One of the robbers drew a firearm and shot Temple.

ang uban nga ‘Ihatag na lang na day,’” Alaras said.

Alaras said that there is no police outpost in the area as outposts are concentrated in Carreta and Hipodromo to prevent petty crimes such as snatching.

He said that the mobile patrol team assigned in the area was in a separate operation in Barangay Hipodromo.

“Ang patrol car gipullout kay naa ta operation sa may Hipodromo. Naa pa to sulod ang dinakpan pagdiritso didto sa crime scene pero wala na naabtan sa mga pulis nato,” he said.

Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) director Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas said that the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) should reorganize its deployment plan.

“Ang among sabot ni CD, she needs to reevaluate the patrol plan nga wala gap. Naa man tawo but it just needs to be recalibrated para to make sure minimize ang opportunity for crime,” he said.

Police are checking if the robbers are the same men who recently victimized two Taiwanese tourists in the area.
