RENDERS OF A fiVE-CAMERA-EQUIPPED PHONE MAKES ROUNDS

Renders of a five-camera-equipped smartphone by Nokia made rounds over the weekend, circulated by “serial tech leakers” OnLeaks and 91Mobiles.

Dubbed the “Nokia 9,” the model is arguably one of the most highly anticipated smartphones of 2018, given its rumored combination of superb hardware and software components.

Based on the “leaked” renders, the phone’s fivecamera setup arms it with the capacity to shoot images based on varied focal lengths. Backed by depth-sensing features, the purported renders of the phone shows that it’s topped by a 5.9-inch display which, unlike the “Nokia 6.1” or “Nokia 7.l,” doesn’t have a notch.

Though listed as a 2018 model, reports on the smartphone’s unveiling date indicate that it will likely make its debut in next year’s international Mobile World Congress. With its five-camera setup, it has been described by many as Nokia’s answer to Samsung’s “Galaxy A9” – a smartphone model that comes with a four-camera setup.

During the course of this year’s Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco, USA, the Korean smartphone manufacturer presented a “foldable phone” prototype that can be folded out to become a tablet.

Equipped with Samsung’s “Infinity Flex Display” technology, the device, which was demonstrated by Samsung SVP of mobile product marketing Justin Denison, sports a candybar form that can be unfolded to become a tablet with a 7.3-inch display.

Running on Android, the device comes with enhancements for multi-app processing, a feature which allows it to run up to three applications in one go.

Though the specifics on the device have been sketchy, Denison did indicate that the brand will start mass producing “Infinity Flex Displays” in a “matter of months,” hinting that the brand may be unveiling its forerunning line of “foldable phones” by next year.

Talk of “foldable phones” being the next big thing in the mobile devices segment have recently been rife, what with various leaks and rumors newsbits hinting that the likes of LG, Lenovo, Huawei and Apple are working on developing such a device.

To date, Samsung is the first to present a working prototype, proof that “foldable phones” are for real.
