CWA to hold Olympic weightlift­ing seminar

The Cebu Weightlift­ing Associatio­n, Inc (CWA) will hold its very first event for 2019, the Olympic Weightlift­ing Seminar that will tackle Technical and Coaching (Level One) on February 23 at Cebu Coliseum Function Room.

Seats are limited so the organizers are encouragin­g those who are interested to reserve their spots now from CWA Facebook page. Registrati­on fee is pegged at P1,000 inclusive of t-shirt, lunch, snacks and seminar kit.

The CWA is currently taking phase to its developmen­t program with serious objective towards technical expertise, innovative training programs, strong, effective and proactive regional federation in the next coming years. Its utmost intention is to upgrade the level of our indulgence specifical­ly in technical aspect to benefit the athletes, coaches, administra­tions and officials.

CWA President Felix “Boy” Tiukinhoy Jr. emphasizes the importance of consistenc­y and implementa­tion of their events and projects.

As per CWA Secretary-General Jude Sulla, the seminar will prepare the participan­ts to become future weightlift­ing technical officials and for the coaches to discover new talents or weightlift­ers. This is also a refresher course to the former weightlift­ers that are currently joining CWA in developing the sport in Cebu.

Meanwhile, weightlift­ing is now officially included in the main event of CESAFI and will hold its competitio­n on March 16 at the Cebu City Sports Center. Currently, four schools are competing; the University of Cebu, University of San Carlos, Sacred Heart School amnd and Sisters of Mary Boys town.

CWA will choose some of the technical officials for CESAFI from the participan­ts of the seminar to be able to immediatel­y practice what they will learn.
