Ebora, Ruiz top Cebu North 85K mountainbi­ke race

Visiting riders James Ebora and Lucille Ruiz came out the fastest in their respective divisions in the Cebu North 85-kilometer mountainbi­ke race in the City of Bogo’s plaza yesterday.

Ebora of Bukidnon topped the men’s open elite in three hours, 19 minutes and 43 seconds, way ahead of Jorice Mark Zabate who finished off in 3:29:19 as Jhepoy Juson came out third in 3:34:37.

Metchel Pilapil wound up fourth in the premiere division in 3:55:48 as Roger Niere landed at fifth spot in 3:56:09 while the rest of the top 10 cast in the said class were Jerson

Domingo(4:02:37), Victor Mikael Robles(4:02:37), Dondon Yu(4:15:49), Jerson Maquilan(4:25:08), and Teddy Pondo at 4:32:01 clocking.

Ruiz, for her part, showed endurance and patience en route to winning the women’s open in 5:39:08, almost an hour ahead of Almira Amoy who finished at 6:24:43.

Riva Julve landed third in 7:04:35 while Cindyliza Concon was fourth in 08:05:35 and Louise Jane Cabangal surviving for fifth with 08:14:58 clocking.

Jessiedel Arnado, for his part, also showed a lot of promise as he came out the fastest in the 19-29 class with 3:29:20 clocking as against Deogines Dumoran with 3:37:35 and Kevin Aballar at third in 3:41:29.

Ramil Mansada topped the 30-45 division in 3:34:37, followed by Edan Catila with 3:46:58, and Clifford Pinosa at third in 3:46:59.

Freddie Perez also showed he still has it after ruling the 46-above class in 4:06:25 while Nick Malon placed second in 4:07:47 and Karl Fortich ending third with a time of 4:20:45. —
