City logs highest single-day cases at 353

Cebu City recorded 353 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections yesterday, the highest recorded in a single day since community quarantine was imposed in March.

Cebu City Health Department (CCHD) reported that most of the cases came from Barangay Guadalupe, 44;

Barangay Sambag 2, 27; Barangay Labangon, 19; Barangay Lahug, 18; and Barangay Capitol, 16.

Barangays Mabolo and Tejero logged 14 cases each, while Barangay Sambag 1 had 13.

Other cases were from Barangay Talamban, 12; Barangay Punta, 11; and Barangay Hipodromo, 10; Barangays Kinasangan, Pardo, and Tisa; while eight came from Barangay Apas, 9 each; Barangays Basak San Nicolas, Cogon Pardo, Quiot, T. Padilla, and Taptap, 7 each;

Barangays Bacayan, Basak Pardo, Bo. Luz, Calamba, Camputhaw, and Mambaling, 6 each.

Barangay San Roque got five while Banilad and Pahina Central recorded four cases each. Barangays Buhisan, Bulacao, Kasambagan, Lorega, and San Nicolas Proper recorded three cases each while Barangays Day-as, Kalunasan, Sto. Niño, and Zapatera added two cases each.

Meanwhile, Barangays Carreta, Duljo, Ermita, Inayawan, Kalubihan, Parian, Pasil, Suba, and Tinago recorded one case each.

CCHD also reported four cases from an unverified address.

The additional cases bring the city's total number of infections to 5,494, of which the active cases are 2,602.

RECOVERIES

The health department announced 10 recoveries yesterday, making the total recoveries to 2,723 so far.

The lab-negative patients were from Barangays Basak San Nicolas, Cogon Pardo, Inayawan, Mobolo, Parian, Sawang Calero, Sto. Niño, Talamban, and Tejero.

No deaths were recorded yesterday.
