DILG gives until today for contact tracers

The Department of Interior and Local Government is giving the Cebuanos until today to send applicatio­n to be part of Cebu City’s contact tracing team.

DILG- Cebu City is looking into hiring 600 contact tracers to augment the existing contact tracing teams beginning on the first day of October as reported by DILG-Cebu City’s publicatio­n.

Newly- hired contact tracers will serve f r om October t o December this year under a contract of service and will get P18,784.00 monthly salary.

Cebu City’s existing contact tracers lessened when some of its members already returning to its mother units including some from Philippine National Police, the Bureau of Fire Protection, Armed Forces of the Philippine­s.

Other contact tracers are from the City Health Department and job-order employees hired by the city government.

DILG Cebu City officer- incharge, lawyer Ian Kenneth B. Lucero said, the employment of additional contact tracers will boost the city’s contact tracing efforts that even as cases are now fewer at 395 active cases based on the Department of Health’s September 23 data.

The more contact tracers the city has will also make timely and accurate conduct of contact tracing activities and reporting of Covid-19 surveillan­ce data.

Massive contact tracing has been proven to be a “game-changer” in the battle of Covid- 19 in the country.

An applicant must have at least a bachelor’s degree relevant to the job, preferably allied medical course or criminolog­y and should be 21 to 45 years old.

Applicants may submit their requiremen­ts via cebucityco­ntacttraci­ng@gmail.com.

Requiremen­ts include a letter of intent, a personal data sheet, NBI clearance and drug t est along with a copy of its diploma and transcript of record or a certificat­ion from the school one has graduated.

Other LGUs are also hiring their own contact tracers.

As such, walk- ins are also welcome at DILG-7 regional office in Sudlon, Lahug this city.
