CPPO warns health protocol violators
In just a week, a total of 347 violators were recorded by the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) as they strengthen their monitoring over the influx of visitors in different cities and municipalities of the province.
Violators include those who were given warnings and minors who were rescued.
CPPO director, Police Colonel Aladdin Collado, has directed all station commanders to conduct regular inspections of resorts and facilities to make sure that the minimum health standard protocols are being followed.
"At do ons a apprehensions, continuous pa rin yung pang huhuli natin ng mga violators ng mga COVID- related violations where in fact, meron tayong total of 347 violators including rescued, para doon sa underage, at saka yung mga fined and warned, ang 347 for a week alone lang ito, (this week)," Collado t old reporters yesterday.
The police have noticed that a lot of people are going out during weekends.
“So, I directed t he chief of police to conduct facility inspection, para this is also a way of telling sa mga kababayan natin na we have to comply the prescribed minimum health protocols and social distancing and others na nakalagay doon sa Executive Order 20 about the required number doon sa area," he added.
Collado further said that they are intensifying their information drive through series of rekorida along with their continuous conduct of contact tracing and seminars in all cities and municipalities.
Aside from this, the CPPO is also replicating the Regional Integrated Covid Practical Operations Center which aims to have a systematic monitoring on the reports of COVID cases from the region unto the different stations.
At present, Collado said, t hey are closely monitoring the areas of Balamban and Manipis where t here are many visitors over the weekends.
"We are also conducting stakeholders meetings doon sa mga areas that are frequently visited by the local tourists, example of this, we have an executive meeting with the chief of police and local chief executive and mga restaurant and resort owners doon sa Balamban, kasi nakita namin na sa weekend na andun yung influx ng mga tao coming from the cities," he added.
The meetings also aimed at reminding establishment owners of t heir duties and requirements to fully implement the minimum health standard protocols. This is also to see to it that the facilities are following the standard and required enforcements.
