Sunshine Dizon moving to ABS-CBN?
Long-time Kapuso Sunshine Dizon is reportedly one of two actresses who will follow in the footsteps of Janine Gutierrez: brave a move to a network that is currently without a franchise.
As reported Monday by Pep.ph, Sunshine was said to have attended a story conference for a drama series that will star Janine and Paulo Avelino, the latter also a former Kapuso.
Last seen in the afternoon drama series “Magkaagaw” – that made noise for steamy scenes and rumors of a real-life romance between Sheryl Cruz and Jeric Gonzales – the actress has been with GMA Network for 25 years. Pep.ph wrote that GMA did not renew Sunshine’s contract and she is thus free to accept projects from other networks.
Her colleagues at the station are said to be surprised at her decision since she is rarely wanting in projects. Her assignments, they added, are often substantial and enjoy good ratings.
She has recently branched out as a director – for the second unit of Iza Calzado and Ian Veneracion’s “B&B: The Story of the Battle
of Brody & Brandy” that airs on WeTV – after going into producing with her “Encantadia” sisters Iza, Diana Zubiri and Karylle. With the exception of Diana who has not been active in showbiz, the original Sanggres will now be under one roof if Sunshine does sign as a Kapamilya.

Filipino netizens are praising Shen Yue, dubbed as the new generation Shan Cai, as Jerry Yan’s leading lady in the hit Asian series “Count Your Lucky Stars” (CLYS) on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, A2Z, and TV5.
YouTube user Reiri Kamura lauded the onscreen chemistry despite the age gap. “Hindi halata na malaki agwat nila. Shen is a 24-yearold Chinese actress, singer, and model who reprised the well-loved character Shan Cai in the 2018 “Meteor Garden” remake. Original Dao Ming Si Jerry Yan, meanwhile, is aging like fine wine at 44 years old.
Like in “Meteor Garden,” Andi, Shen Yue’s character, also gets into a lot of heated conflicts with Calvin (Jerry Yan) as they get closer to each other. In the April 16 episode, Andi finally discovered that Calvin stopped designing after his mother died in a tragic accident. When she told
Calvin that she knows his secret, the latter lost his temper and snapped at Andi for snooping on his life.
