‘Lunch Out Loud’ & ‘It’s Showtime’ collab hoped to reinvigorate noontime viewing

-

“Lunch Out Loud” and “It’s Showtime,” two popular variety programs, will now be seen in more television channels to entertain more Filipinos starting July 16.

The exciting collaboration of ABS-CBN Entertainment, Brightlight, Zoe, and TV5 will definitely make the noontime viewing experience more enjoyable with “Lunch Out Loud” at 11 am until 12:45 pm followed by “It’s Showtime” at 12:45 pm until 3 pm. That’s four hours of nonstop fun starting this Saturday as both shows go back-to-back.

During the big reveal on Monday, “It’s Showtime” hosts thanked TV5 for welcoming their program in the Kapatid network.

“TV5, maraming maraming salamat,” Vhong Navarro said. Ogie Alcasid also expressed his gratitude to TV5 saying, “Salamat sa pagmamahal ninyo, sa pagwelcome sa amin. Sino’ng makakapagsabi, sa dami ng pinagdaanan natin, mapapanood na tayo ng Madlang Pipol sa TV5.”

Tyang Amy Perez also remarked, “For sure, ‘yung mga kapatid natin sa Visayas, Mindanao, at lalong-lao na ‘yung mga nasa Luzon, inaabangan talaga tayong lahat. Excited na silang mapanood ang ‘It’s Showtime.’”

Anne Curtis invited viewers to watch the ‘pangmalakasang’ good vibes and unlimited fun starting this Saturday, saying that she’s “very happy to reach even more Kapamilyas and Kapatid.”

Noontime viewing is livelier too because of the back-to-back funny antics of the “Laugh Out Loud” and “It’s Showtime” hosts.

This is also a welcome development in the television industry as it could be the answered prayer to help boost noontime viewing that dropped significantly during the start of the pandemic and the ABS-CBN shutdown.

According to AGB Nielsen, TV viewing declined to 13.5 percent in the first three months of 2021 from 17 percent in the same period in 2020. The shutdown of ABS-CBN on free TV and the implementation of the work-fromhome scheme by most companies also led to increased internet usage. This meant that more Filipinos shifted to digital media for their entertainment consumption as well.

Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) president Ruperto Nicdao affirmed AGB Nielsen’s study. He said that both Nielsen and Kantar Media showed that TV viewing was around 23-24 percent during the first few months of the pandemic, but it went down from 13.8 percent to 10 percent when ABS-CBN went off the air.

“Millions of Filipinos just tuned out of TV. That’s a big drop in overall TV viewing,” Nicdao was quoted as saying.

We really hope the collaboration will make TV viewership surge because another camp that would benefit from this move is the advertising industry. If TV ratings rise again, then their clients will be enticed to place more ads to reach more customers.

Even with her string of achievements, among them being “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 2 first runnerup,Alisah never rests on her laurels. She continues to undergo music training. Currently she is taking up Bachelor of Music, Major in Music Theater at the University of Sto. Tomas.

She humbly admits that she is proactive when it comes to improving her talents and skills by learning everything and anything about music. Alisah’s passion to improve as a singer led her to explore songwriting, which enabled her to create an original composition titled, “Walang Iwanan”.

She composed the song in 2020, the year when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its peak, and the same year that her family lost their grandfather.

“I wrote the song while I was trying to sleep. I was really anxious at that time so I started to hum music in my mind and also thought of the lyrics. I was encouraging myself to never lose hope because God will always be by my side. I recorded it using my phone’s voice recorder, that’s what I do when I can’t sleep, and usually, I will just save it for myself.”

When her manager, Tita Rosabelle of RJA Productions, encouraged them to compose their own songs, Alisah told her about “Walang Iwanan”, and after listening to it, said she will release it under RJA Productions.

Alisah made minor changes in the lyrics after she took an online songwriting class. “Walang Iwanan”, which she recorded last year, was released in all digital platforms worldwide on July 8 with the music video debuting on July 15 – making Alisah officially a singer-songwriter.
