Rama positive for COVID-19
Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, the city’s consultant on health and hospital operations, assured that Rama is “well and (there is) nothing to worry about his condition.”
Rama said he already called Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte to take the lead in the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP)’s meeting with Malacañang.
Rama is the league’s president while Belmonte is the executive vice president.
“I have already called my executive vice president, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, to physically take the lead and if technology will allow, I will connect on a very short, brief, and clear message to the President and fellow mayors,” Rama said on Tuesday.
VACCINATION
Loreche said that Rama’s being vaccinated fully against COVID-19 and having acquired a booster shot “definitely contributed to his being asymptomatic positive.”
Rama reiterated his call for city residents to get their booster shot and, if possible, a second booster.
He also reminded everyone to continue to adhere to proven health protocols and to always practice WUHAN, which is acronym for Wash your hands; Use your face mask; Have your temperature checked; Avoid crowded places; and Never touch your face.
“Anchored on ParentSupervised Household Preparedness, the Mayor calls again on all heads of families to ensure that every member is protected, not only against COVID but also, against dengue,”
Eviota said.
