Dynacast 2001 banners lopsided wins in SHAABAA Season 25
A 49-point demolition of Dynacast 2001 against Batch 2002 bannered the lopsided matches that marked the second playdate of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 25 last Sunday, July 31, at the Magis Eagles Arena of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHSAdC) in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
Jason Arquisola unloaded 23 points laced with nine rebounds, five assists and four steals in an all-around hardcourt brilliance that powered Dynacast 2001 to a 100-51 obliteration of the Gaisano Capital, San Remigio Beach Club, KJO Prints, and
Badbeat Sportswear-backed 2002.
Josef Rey Reoma added 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, Wendell Ryan Ong scored 14 on top of three boards while Mark Jeffrey Hing chipped in 10 markers and nine rebounds for Dynacast, which used a devastating second-half attack to pulverize Batch 2002.
Ahead by 12 at halftime, 40-28, Dynacast handcuffed Batch 2002 to a miserable single point in the third period while torching 30 on the way to mount an insurmountable 70-29 lead going into the final 10 minutes of play.
In the other results, Cebu Chooks 3x3 stalwart Zachary Huang delivered a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Asian Orthopedics 2014 smashed MDP Customs Brokerage 2013, 71-50, while Niño ArawAraw sparkled with 19 points, five rebounds, nine assists and five steals as Storage Town 2015 pummeled Batch 2019, 95-71.
Not to be outdone, Bradley Bacaltos and Bernard Chioson both produced a solid doubledouble as SUPREA Ready Mixed Concrete 2011 trounced Bizol Castcrete Builders 2005, 79-65. Bacaltos dropped 26 points spiked with 13 rebounds, while Chioson tallied 17 markers on top of 20 caroms.
In the only close matches of the day, the Carampatana Food Corp. 2012 went through overtime before fending off Casa Mira 2021, 93-89, while the Prince Warehouse Inc., Laptap Enterprises and MYMC Group 2006 escaped past Marjaztin Glass Trading & Construction 2008, 73-69.
Adven Jess Diputado exploded with a tournament-high 46 points for Batch 2012 while Frank Dinsay and Anthony Ong showed the way for Batch 2006 with 28 combined points and 10 rebounds. —
