A minor involved in the robbery and homicide incidents in Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City has surrendered that led to the arrest of two other suspects while two identified minors are still at large as of Monday morning.

The stabbing incident of a minor on Saturday evening, according to the police, has been initially an act of robbery by the five suspects.

The victim was identified as Jerome Rivera Estan, 16-yearsold, a Grade 10 student and a resident of Barangay PahinaCentral, Cebu City.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the incident happened when the victim fought back during the incident.

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Deputy City Director for Administration Wilbert Parilla confirmed the rescue of two minors and a man, identified as suspects for the robbery and homicide.

On Sunday morning, one of the minor suspects surrendered and presented the victim's phone with messages between the suspects of their execution of the robbery to the police.

Through the surrendered evidence provided by one of the suspects, the police were able to arrest Jether Velez Tabura, a 22-yearold male and a minor on August 7, 2022.

The surrendered suspect said that they never intended their plan to result in the death of the victim.

Parilla said, in a press conference, that they are set to file a case today for robbery with homicide against the five suspects.

He said that this has been the first case in more than six years involving minors, adding they plan to continue enforcing the curfew for minors as it has proven to have been effective in deterring crimes, especially involving minors.
