QUICK AND YUMMY

- By Sandra Suico

It’s school break, a most awaited time by kids! But with the specter of the coronavirus menace still lurking in everyone’s mind, it may not look like the usual school break this year yet. For the most part, the kids are likely to be holed up at home, glued to their gadgets. If not Covid-19, the rainy season may bring various other traditional health risks.

Moms, in particular, would insist for the little ones to stay put… to play it safe. While the kids may not openly grumble against the stay-at-home rule – what with their smartphones on hand – their tummies may demand Mom’s attention. That means there shall always be something to fill grumbling tummies with.

Good thing there’s something yummy and quickto-do that moms can resort to – this one from https:// chocolatechocolateandmore.com:

Three-Minute Fudge

Ingredients:

1 can Sweetened Condensed milk (14 ounces) 2 cups (1 12-ounce bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Procedure:

• Butter a square pan and line with parchment paper for easy removal of set fudge. Set aside.

• In a microwave-safe two-quart bowl, heat chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk, on high for 1 minute. Remove from microwave. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir to combine. If needed, heat for an additional 30 seconds. Stir until chips are completely melted and chocolate is smooth.

• Stir in vanilla extract. Pour fudge into prepared pan. Let fudge cool completely before cutting into one-inch squares. (You can place in the refrigerator for one hour to speed up the process.)

• Store in an airtight container. Fudge does not need to be kept refrigerated.
