Rama: CH workers to get P15T Charter Day bonus
Employees of the Cebu City government will get P15,000 each as Charter Day bonus.
This was announced by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama during the flag ceremony at the City Hall grounds yesterday morning.
Rama told the city hall workers that he personally asked the City Council for additional amount since only P5,000 each was initially allocated for Charter Day bonus.
“Nag estorya ming Raymond Garcia, Vice di mahimong singko mil ra uy… di sad mahimong dyes mil ra,” Rama said.
He urged the city hall employees to thank the council for acceding to his plea albeit less than the P50,000 he intends to grant earlier. But Rama said there are still more occasions to come where the city may give additional bonus.
“Ampo lang mo, naa pay Mayo, naa pay June,” Rama said. Earlier, the mayor said the city can give Labor Day bonus in May as well as Independence Day bonus in June.
Rama said that bonuses are meant for the families of the employees, especially their children. He urged all city hall workers, especially those he called “trolls”, to reflect and repent.
“Hayahaya gyud ninyo…mga sad-an, panghinoklog na mo… mga marites, marisol… panghinolsol na…mao ra na akong hangyo ninyo,” Rama said.
Meanwhile, City Administrator Suzanne Ardosa has announced that city hall employees will be excused from their work during their scheduled visit to the Inter-Department Service Showcase at Robinson’s Galleria.
The inter-department showcase is also open to all Cebuanos for them to know more about the services offered by each department of the city hall.
The city has also lined up several activities this week until the 86th Charter Day celebration on February 24.
The activities include an inter-department quiz bowl, a trade fair, awarding of the most outstanding employees, inauguration of completed projects in different barangays, and a lecture on the life of Don Vicente Rama, father of the city’s charter.
Contestants for the weight-loss challenge of the city will also have a daily zumba and yoga session. All city hall employees who want to stay fit and healthy are also welcome to join.
