Drugs worth P17.8M seized, 2 suspects fall

More than P17.8 million worth of shabu were confiscate­d in separate buy-bust operations Saturday night in Villa Bulsita, Brgy. Bulacao Pardo and Sitio Caimito, Brgy. Basak San Nicolas in Cebu City.

The operations were conducted by the City Drug Enforcemen­t Unit and the Mambaling Police Station of the Cebu City Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency-7.

The first arrested person was identified as Ramil Ancero Gabaca alias Loloy, 29, who was caught with several packages believed to be shabu weighing 605 grams and worth P4.1 million.

Gabaca was found with 11 medium size, 15 large packs of suspected shabu and also recovered was the buybust money in the amount of

P12,000.

In another anti-drug operation of the Station Drug Enforcemen­t Unit of the Mambaling Police Station led by Police Major Jonathan Bethooven Taneo, at least two kilos of suspected shabu were seized in Sitio Caimito, Brgy. Basak San Nicolas.

The arrested person was identified as Ariel Poliquit Lipumano alias Bungot, 32, who is considered a high-value individual with 2,025 grams of shabu worth P13.7 million.

CCPO director, Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, said that Lipumano often had control over barangays Tisa, Pardo, Mambaling and nearby barangays in Cebu City. The suspect can dispose of one kilo to two kilos every week.

“Allegedly itong suspect ay maka pag dispose siya ng one kilogram to two kilogram per week yun ang impormasyo­n na nakuha natin sa kanya at mayrong tayong nakilala na highvalue individual sa ngayon di pa natin e mention ang pangalan niya dahil meron pa tayong sinasagawa­ng follow up operation,” said Dalogdog.

Dalogdog said the arrested person is a bodegero and a carrier of illegal drugs.

Those arrested will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. —
