Hofmann demolishes Korean foe in two rounds

-

Fil-Swiss mixed martial artist Chris Hofmann made a triumphant return on the cage with a smashing second-round stoppage of Korean Kim Min Seok in the main event of “Bloodline:URCC 83 Heritage Fight” over the weekend at the fullpacked Zamboanga del Norte Cultural and Sports Center in Dipolog City.

Hofmann’s brightest moment came towards the end of the second round when he landed a solid punch to the jaw that sent Kim down on both knees.

Smelling blood, Hofmann subsequently delivered a series of punishing head blows on Kim that forced the referee to wave off the match and prevent the hapless Korean from further damage.

In the supporting bout, ZaNorte’s hometown pride Bryle “The Notorious” Ozaraga stole the show when he needed just 28 seconds to dismantle Jinno “D’ Survivor” Quirante in one of the shortest fights in URCC history.

Meanwhile, the first ever URCC event in Mindanao was a huge success.

“Thank you URCC for giving us the opportunity to bring this kind of event for the first time here in our place. It’s also a chance to showcase what our fighters are made of,” said Dapitan Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos. “Thank you most to our beloved Zamboanga del Norte governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos. Without her all-out support, this would not have been made possible.”

“We hope to seal a partnership with URCC to help promote combat sports in the country,” added Jaloslos.

The top honchos of URCC led by its founder Alvin Aguilar are so elated by the event’s outcome that this early they are already eyeing to put on another show in ZaNorte a few months from now.

“Dapitan is the best place. Everything is here. It fits our purpose because we are here not only to promote URCC but also the people of Dapitan, it’s culture, it’s history,” said URCC vice president Alek Sofronov. “We’re planning to do another international event here in July.”
