Duros Group opens first four-star hotel in Liloan

The Duros Group of Companies formally opened its 102-room hotel in the municipality of Liloan, Cebu.

The One Tectona Hotel pioneers the trend of high rise structures in Liloan, as the tallest building ever built in the town.

Aside from its main target market who are the Japanese and local golf enthusiasts, Duros Group chairman Rafaelito Barino bared plans that the hotel will also build spacious function facilities anticipating the revival of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) market.

According to Barino, the building of more function rooms complements the entire property’s charm to attract big groups, not just in sports tourism, but also corporate and other events.

One Tectona Hotel is the first four-star premium hotel in northern part of Cebu. It also provides access to Liloan Golf with an 18-Hole Par 72 Championship Course, a new and well-equipped clubhouse, expansive greens, and verdant hills that golfers will enjoy.

The hotel’s grand opening held on February 24, 2023 was graced by Liloan Mayor Mayor Aljew Fernando Frasco and Department of Tourism (DOT) Undersecretary Elaine Bathan.

Barino’s plan to build MICE facilities in Liloan is backed by Mayor Frasco saying Liloan is setting up its master drainage plan preparing Liloan for tourism, business and investment surge.

Being the hometown of DOT secretary Christina G. Frasco, Liloan is poised improve its tourism and investment charms benefiting the residents and its economy.

In her speech, Bathan vowed that DOT will support Duros plan to position One Tectona as a MICE hub in the north of Cebu.

“As your undersecretary and together with Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, your very own Liloanon, we will commit to supporting the Duros Group and ensuring that One Tectona and other hotels will get the much-needed exposure as an events place for Mice not just in the Philippines but also in the international [level],” Bathan promised.

One Tectona boasts of a spacious function hall that can comfortably seat 80 persons in a banquet setup. It also has an infinity pool, with a vast view of the woodland enclave, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a game room.

The hotel also features Teak Modern Cuisine, an allday dining restaurant that can accommodate about 120 persons. It also has an executive boardroom and lounge on the 13th floor that is open for cocktails, date nights, and group meetings and parties for 25 persons. — Ehda M. Dagooc
