After the Office of the Building Official, the Cebu City Assessor’s Office will no longer accept “walk-ins” starting February 1, 2024.

A memorandum issued by City Assessor, Dr. Maria Theresa CeballosRosell, said they are now going to implement digitalization/online services soon.

“This is to inform the transacting public, concerned individuals and agencies, that starting February 1, 2024, the Office of the City Assessor will no longer entertain "walk-in" transactions”.

This is in line with the mandates of Republic Act 11032, otherwise known as the Ease of Doing Business Law, and Republic Act11976, the

Ease of Paying Taxes Act.

As such, Rosell said, they will now be “transitioning to a fully online transaction system”.

“This decision is aimed at streamlining processes, enhancing efficiency, and providing a more convenient and accessible service to the transacting public.”

Such a move is also aligned with the government's commitment to simplifying tax-related processes.

With this, all transactions with the Office of the City Assessor will already be done online through their official website at the start of February of this year.

The CAO promises that their official website will be user-friendly with a comprehensive range of services, including but not limited to property assessments and inquiries.

CAO also commits to provide assistance throughout this process and detailed guidelines and tutorials on using our online services will be made available.

“Together, we contribute to the realization of a more streamlined public service,” Rosell said.

In line with this, all previously issued orders, directives, and memoranda which are contrary to the latest memo are also “effectively revoked, revised, or modified accordingly”.
