The Police Regional Office 7 has commended the Mabolo Police Station of the Cebu City Police Office following the prompt arrest of the two women who were members of a “salisi” gang from Metro Manila.

The suspects were identified as Ma. Ann Mantilla, also known as Ann, is a 27-year-old from Makati City, and Ma. Joplin Sison, also known as Lin, is a 28-year-old from Taguig City.

The two were the identified suspects who victimized a customer in a bar in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City on January 19, 2024.

Taken from the victim at that time were an iPhone 14 Promax worth P85,000 and money amounting to P27,000.

The victim immediately reported the incident to the police.

The suspects reportedly came back to the bar on January 21, but they were immediately intercepted after their identities were identified through the CCTV footage.

Recovered from the suspects were the iPhone 14 Promax and the large amount of money they stole.

A police investigation revealed that the suspects were arrested in Bacolod City last week during a festival there but they were able to post bail on their offense.

However, Police Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson for PRO-7, clarified that the “salisi” gang they arrested in Mabolo was a different group from the ones arrested by the Mambaling police as they were purely locals.

"We would like to commend the police officers who were able to arrest and who responded very promptly para madakpan ning atong mga suspects,” Pelare said, expressing his appreciation to the Mabolo Police for the prompt arrest of the two individuals.

The two suspects are currently detained at Mabolo Police Station for the proper filing of a theft case against them.
