Nominations for Charter Day Awards until February 14
Nominations for most outstanding individuals and institutions in Cebu City are open until February 14.
The most outstanding individual award is open to both native of Cebu or at least three (3) years resident of Cebu who has shown integrity of character in office or in personal calling or profession.
Based on the criteria set by the Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission (CHAC), the said award is for those that “gained greater honor for Cebu in general and for himself/herself in particular through acts of virtue, exemplary behavior, extraordinary display of heroism, bravery and selflessness in defense of moral principles.”
Aside from that, the said individual has contributed to the growth, development and programs of Cebu and/or its people.
The most outstanding institutions, on the other hand, are for those that contributed to the growth, development and programs of Cebu and/or its people.
Aside from that, those that have devoted time, exemplary efforts and financial measures to the general welfare of the Cebuanos without expectations of rewards and those that have helped the city government directly in the delivery of the basic and other service to Cebu and/or its people.
The institutions qualified to be nominated for the award include government, foundations, private corporations, non-government organizations, among others. For those who want to nominate deserving individuals and institutions may get nomination forms at the CHAO office located at the 2nd floor, Rizal Memorial Library and Museum, Osmeña Boulevard.
One may also request for an electronic copy of the nomination by sending a message at the Cultural and Historical Affairs Office’s Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/CebuCityCHAOffice or email at cebucitychac@gmail.com. “Please write “Request for nomination form” and indicate for which category, ” CHAO’s announcement reads.
One can also call CHAO at 416-4579 and look for Fanche Medina for an appointment to get the hard copy of the nomination form. After the deadline, all nominations will be deliberated by CHAO and its selection committee.
Those that will make it to the final list will be recognized for their valuable contributions to the city of Cebu during the 87th Charter Day celebration on February 24. –
