The peoples' destiny in the Year of the Dragon

-

is nothing sacrilegious or heretical for Catholics like us to believe in feng shui. Christianity and feng shui both believe and promote the beliefs on the vital need for harmony, balance, order, and adherence to the cause-andeffect principles. Both uphold the principles that everyone reaps what he sows, and faces all the consequences of his thoughts, decisions, expressions, and actions.

Having laid these basic premises, we proceed to divine the people's fate in 2024, the year of the dragon. We agree with Philpost that in Chinese mythology the dragon symbolizes not only strength, power, and might, but also

courage, aggressiveness, creativity, and innovation. The dragon is the fifth in the sequence of Chinese animal symbols and people born under this sign are known to become successful in business and entrepreneurship. Famous people born under this sign include, space enthusiast and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Beatles members John Lennon and Ringo Starr, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Joan of Arc, Julius Caesar, Bruce Lee, and Twitter founder and philanthropist Jack Dorsey.

The foremost Filipino dragons are titans Tony Tancaktiong, one of the richest Filipinos who owns Jollibee, the only local brand that has beaten McDonald’s, and the legendary Injap Sia who founded Mang Inasal and sold it to Tony, making billions before he reached the age of 40. Then Injap teamed up with Tony to establish the Double Dragon brand in real estate, hotel, and related ventures. Famous dragons in the entertainment industry are the "unkabogable" Vice Ganda and actor Derek Ramsey. They are both talented, rich, and financially successful. Vice, coming from the urban poor community in Tondo, has transformed the life conditions of his family to become a multi-millionaire with success both in career and love life. Derek is not far behind.

Dragons are those born in 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, and 2024 are usually imbued with a strong character, firm stand on issues, and strong determination. They are hardworking, aggressive, dynamic, full of energy, and always have new and innovative ideas, They are

also bull-headed and focused on their goals. They cannot easily be restrained, obstructed, or discouraged. They possess bravery even under fire, they never surrender to opposition. But they also have charisma and magnetism in their aura. People are attracted to them and would usually choose them as leaders. They will most likely succeed in business, entertainment, politics, public service, and even in the military.

The other side of the dragon personality, or shall we call these their weaknesses, include being too reckless at times to the point of putting their lives and possessions in danger. They should not gamble in casinos without a prudent partner, preferably born under the sign of a ram or ox because dragons could be impulsive and careless. They can also be tactless and may antagonize people or rub them the wrong way. Dragons have many romances but can seldom find one true love. They are good in bed and enjoy multiple partners but at the end of the day, they find it difficult to maintain a relationship. They are too strong and too overpowering their partners run away and hide.

In other words, dragons may be successful in business, politics, and their careers. But they need some divine intervention to be successful in love and lasting family partnership. In the Year of the Dragon, that same fate is bound to befall us: Success in business and profession but problems when it comes to love and relationships. Well, we really cannot win them all.
