Construction work for the new municipal hall of Oslob town in southern Cebu has started.

The pouring of the first concrete last Feb. 8, 2024 marked the official start of construction for the town's newest infrastructure project.

Municipal Mayor Ronald Guaren led the ceremony along with Cebu Representative Edsel Galeos, members of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB), LGU heads and employees, barangay officials, the Design and Build Committee (DBC), and representatives from PLD Construction & Development Incorporated.

In October last year, Gov. Gwen Garcia led the groundbreaking for the 1,200 square meter building project.

Oslob's newest municipal hall, as per report from the town’s public information office’s page, will have four floors located right next to the Immaculada Concepcion church and the old Cuartel. The new building’s design will incorporate pre-colonial Oslobanon culture, as well as traditional Spanish architecture.

The new municipal hall is also said to have bigger spaces for the convenience of their constituents and visitors alike, and is expected to bring Oslob more development.

Prior to the first concrete pouring, municipal councilor and committee chairman on Infrastructure, Engr. Carlos Mirasol, together with Municipal Engineer Ellamelyn Suycano, conducted a project inspection and monitoring of the site where the new municipal building will be situated, alongside the contractor, PLD Construction & Development Incorporated’s Engr. Rene Solatorio, and the safety officer Engr. Raymond Fernandez. -
