-

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association, Cebu Chapter (UPAACC) Board of Trustees has extended the deadline for nominations for its “Tatak UP” Awards to Feb. 29, 2024.

In a statement, UPAACC said that this allows more time to nominate and properly document the achievements of alumni whose endeavors in their respective fields have significantly benefited the people and the communities that they serve.

The forthcoming batch of “Tatak UP” awardees will be honored on the 106th anniversary of the establishment of UP Cebu on May 3, 2024.

The “Tatak UP” award has been given out by the UPAA Cebu Chapter every two years since 2011, until it was interrupted by the pandemic.

Qualified for the award are UP alumni stationed anywhere in the world whose work stand out in their respective fields of expertise, and demonstrate a social conscience, as well as make a positive impact to the Cebu community.

This recognition is open to anyone who may have graduated from any institution of the UP system, or may have finished at least two full years of education (for four-year courses), or three years (for five-year courses) in any UP degree-granting institution.

They must not have been awarded or recognized by other UP institutions or award-giving bodies in UP prior to their “Tatak UP” nomination.

The criteria for the nominees for “Tatak UP” are evaluated based on service, leadership, scope or impact, and integrity.

It added that awardees should attend the awarding ceremonies on May 3, 2024. Those who pass the screening but cannot attend the scheduled awarding ceremony will be considered for a future batch.

Posthumous awards may also be given to deceased nominees whose work has been thoroughly documented for accuracy.

Qualified alumni may be nominated by any group or individual, including one’s self.

Along with the official nomination form found on UPAACC’s Facebook page, the nominator shall submit supporting documents of the achievements of the nominees such as certificates, newspaper clippings, pictures, anecdotal records, etc.

Only complete and accomplished forms shall be accepted and processed. The search team may request additional information or documents from the nominator.

Both nomination form and supporting documents should be submitted to the Head of the Search and Awards Committee at email address tatakup. upcebu@up.edu.ph.
