Cebu legislators joined House Speaker Martin Romualdez for the launching of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in the Province of Siquijor.

BPSF is a convergence of government programs housed in provinces through caravans and is a service oriented program of the Marcos administration. Siquijor is its 11th recipient province since its launching last August 2023.

Siquijor Governor Jake Vincent Villa, in his message before the beneficiaries, underscored that the national program is “historic for Siquijor.”

“Nalipay mi to have been chosen as venue for the first Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in the Visayas-Mindanao area,” the governor said in a statement underscoring that Romualdez is the first Speaker to visit the province.

Romualdez graced the opening of the BPSF representing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the House of Representatives, which was tasked to implement the caravan all throughout the 17 regions.

Lone District Representative Zaldy Villa, who served as local host for the program, affirmed that aside from bringing in the largest service caravan in the country to Siquijor, the province also takes pride to be the first recipient-province to cover all families with over 200 programs from 39 agencies.

“In total sir, more than P300 million ang maibabahagi sa mga Siquijudnon. Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon din po, lahat ng pamilya dito sa Siquijor ang makakatanggap ng Ayuda mula sa gobyerno,” Rep. Villa told Romualdez.

The BPSF has already recorded more than 1 million beneficiaries from the 11 provinces and the kick-off program organized in Luneta last January 28.

In their respective Facebook posts, Cebu Sixth District representative Daphne Lagon, together with Mandaue City Lone District Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon, Cebu City North District Representative Cutie del Mar and Ako Bisaya Partylist Representative Sonny Lagon said they were pleased to be invited to join Romualdez for the said event.

“Ang BPSF mao kini ang pinakadaku na Caravan of services na mahitabo under sa administrasyon ni Pres.Marcos. 40 ka agencies magdala ug 100 kapin na programa ug serbisyo sa 80,000 ka mga beneficiaries,” the sixth district congresswoman said.

For her part, Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Cindi King-Chan in her Facebook post also acknowledged the program as the biggest caravan of services intended to bring closer the government to the people.

King-Chan added that after the BPSF opening ceremony, they also joined the Start-up, Investment, Business Opportunity and Livelihood (SIBOL) Program, Integrated Scholarships and Incentives Program (ISIP), and the

Cash Assistance and Rice Distribution (CARD) Program where thousands of residents from Siquijor benefited from it.
