BOC-Cebu exceeds revenue target
The Bureau of Customs in Cebu has exceeded its revenue target collection for February by over P232 million.
The BOC-Cebu Port reported a total collection of P3,433,233,739.56 as against its assigned target of P3.2 billion for the month of February.
BOC-Cebu district collector Atty. Ricardo Morales II said the remarkable accomplishment underscores their commitment to impose the proper valuation resulting in higher revenue collection.
Morales said that their success is not just a reflection of numbers but a testament to the dedication, integrity, and hard work of his team at the Port of Cebu, Sub-port of Mactan, Sub-port of Dumaguete, and Bohol Customs Office.
“Following our success in January, we have continued to build on our strengths, implementing rigorous strategies in valuation and classification, enhancing our efforts to recover duties and taxes, and exploring non-traditional revenue avenues. I extend my deepest gratitude to our dedicated team and our supportive stakeholders, whose collaboration has been instrumental in these accomplishments. Thank you, Team Cebu!” said Morales.
The data provided by Conrado Abarintos, BOC-Cebu chief of Collection Division, shows that they also surpassed their January target.
According to Abarintos, they were able to collect a total revenue of P3.495 billion in January. BOCCebu has an assigned target collection of P3.358 billion for January.
From January to February 2024, the BOC-Cebu Port already collected a total of P6,928,000,000.42. The amount is P369 million over its target of P6.558 billion. Cebu has an assign target collection of P45.970 billion for 2024.
