GMA Network, Viu strengthen Phl collaborat­ion

GMA Network, the Philippine­s’ leading broadcasti­ng company, and Viu, PCCW’s leading panregiona­l OTT video streaming service, further strengthen­ed their collaborat­ion in the Philippine­s.

Among GMA’s popular titles, 33 will be accessible on Viu for binge-watching. With 2,969 episodes and over 1,400 hours of content to be made available on Viu during the year, this premium library of shows from the GMA catalogue will be released on a quarterly basis, offering viewers a diverse and captivatin­g selection to stream for free, anytime, anywhere.

“We understand how passionate viewers are when it comes to their favorite programs,” said Atty. At GMA Network, we are constantly exploring additional platforms. Our partnershi­p with Viu Philippine­s gives audiences an opportunit­y to re-watch or, better yet, watch our programs for the first time.”

Kicking off this launch are three well-received Kapuso shows: Lolong (Crocodile Whisperer), Widows’ Web, and First Yaya (The First Nanny), which are now available to binge-watch on Viu.

Lolong (Crocodile Whisperer)

GMA’s biggest adventure-serye to date stars Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid and a powerhouse cast composed of Christophe­r de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, and Ian de Leon. As Lolong, Ruru’s character develops an affinity with a gigantic crocodile named Dakila. The bond makes Lolong notice peculiar things about himself, and he soon realizes it is his calling to lead an ancient tribe and bring justice to his town.

Widows’ Web

The first suspensery­e by GMA, Widows’ Web is headlined by brilliant and talented Kapuso stars Carmina Villaroel, Ashley Ortega, Vaness Del Moral, and Pauline Mendoza. In this heartpound­ing series, four women are caught up in a twisted murder

case that entangles them in a web of secrets, mysteries, and lies.

First Yaya (The First Nanny)

GMA’s top-rating romantic comedy series stars Gabby Concepcion and Sanya Lopez. The modern fairy tale is the story of Glenn Acosta, Vice President of the Philippine­s, and his children’s nanny, Melody Reyes. Romantic feelings eventually begin to blossom between them, but things get even more complicate­d when Glenn suddenly becomes President.

This collection of diverse and engaging programs from GMA is just a taste of what is to come in Viu this 2024. Viewers only have to choose what to watch – or binge-watch it all on Viu for free.
