2 suspects yield ₱3.8M in drugs

More than ₱ 3.8 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscate­d from two high-value individual­s in a twoday anti-criminalit­y campaign dubbed the Simultaneo­us Anti-Criminalit­y Law Enforcemen­t Operation.

Yesterday at 2:30 a.m. at Sitio Tugas, Barangay Cogon-Pardo, Cebu City, personnel from the Station Drug Enforcemen­t Team of the Inayawan Police Station seized 505 grams of suspected shabu estimated worth ₱3,434,000 from John Rey Labra Tello, 38, a resident of the said area.

According to Police Major Jeciree Basitao, commander of the Inayawan Police Station, the suspect, who has been under surveillan­ce since January this year, could allegedly dispose of two kilos of shabu a month, and operates within Cebu City.

She added that the suspect was not involved in previous crimes based on their police records, and an investigat­ion is ongoing to determine where he sourced his drugs.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old drug personalit­y was also arrested with several packs of suspected shabu weighing 60 grams and estimated at ₱ 408,000 in a buybust operation at 11:24 p.m. last Monday in Sitio Cogon, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Police identified the suspect as Albert Kinn Devellirez Punay, also known as “Boss Yawa", a resident of the said area.

He was arrested by the elements of the Station Drug Enforcemen­t Unit of the Guadalupe Police Station through a buybust operation.

Also seized from him were one genuine and 11 pieces of fake ₱1,000 bills used as buy-bust money and a black pouch.

The suspect is temporaril­y detained at the detention facility of the said station pending the filing of appropriat­e charges against him.
