New drug personalities, group being monitored

-

The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) is currently monitoring newly identified drug personalities operating in the Central Visayas region.

PRO-7 spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Ace Pelare, disclosed in a conference with the media yesterday that beside these personalities, they are also looking into a drug group believed to be the one spearheading the illegal drug trade in the region.

"Naa tay mga newly identified nga mga drug personalities, but naa pud tay grupo gyud nga gitan-aw nga siya ang nagpangulo aning illegal drug trade sa Central Visayas," he said.

He added that PRO-7 have come up with a link diagram or matrix of these individuals that are allegedly confirmed to be drug personalities, and some even have warrants of arrest.

The identities of these personalities came from information revealed to the police upon the conduct of custodial debriefing on the drug suspects they have arrested in anti-illegal drug operations, Pelare said.

Further, he disclosed that they have identified the supplier of illegal drugs in Central Visayas and clarified that he is not in Cebu City nor in region-7.

"Ang iyang ngalan nagsige og balik-balik. Na-validate nato nga ang tanang dagko ug mga significant nga pagpasud og supply diri sa Central Visayas, apil gyud iyang ngan," he said.

Based on their information validation, Pelare said they have monitored at least more than 50 downlines of this group, but they are nearly neutralized after most of the individuals have been arrested.

However, Pelare explained that these arrested individuals were immediately replaced as part of the nature of the illegal drug trade.

Further, he said that the players in the illegal drug trade do not know each other since most of their transactions are done over cellular phones. –
