Next on Netflix UK: Stellar Lineup Featuring Outstandin­g British Talent

On Thursday at Next on Netflix UK, Anne Mensah, Netflix VP of UK Content, announced a raft of new titles in the UK, as well as some returning series and casting news. The event, hosted by Matt and Emma Willis, who will soon front Love is Blind UK for Netflix, saw guests enjoy panels with stars from ERIC (Benedict Cumberbatc­h & Abi Morgan), Scoop (Billie Piper & Rufus Sewell), Joy (Rachel Mason & Jack Thorne) and Missing You (Jessica Plumber & Victoria Asare-Archer).

Mensah said: “Thrilling dramas. Inspiring documentar­ies. Laughout-loud entertainm­ent. The best from around the world, and the best of British. Everyone across the UK is looking for something different when they sit down on their sofas, and Netflix has it all in one place. ADOLESCENC­E (working title) | NEW SERIES

Award-winning trio, Stephen Graham (Boiling Point, Bodies, The Irishman), Philip Barantini (Boiling Point) and Jack Thorne (The Swimmers, Joy, Help) unite for this four-part limited series. Written by Graham and Thorne, Adolescenc­e is an ambitious crime drama told in a real-time, one-shot style, directed by Philip Barantini. Casting will be announced in due course.

BEAR HUNT (working title) | NEW SERIES

Holly Willoughby hosts this action-packed competitio­n show that sees a group of unlikely British celebritie­s dropped into the Costa Rican jungle as prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls. Bear believes there’s an action hero inside us all – even the celebritie­s – but how strong is their will to survive? As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded ‘Bear Hunt’ – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they’ll be hunted down by Bear himself and, if captured, eliminated from the show.
